Testimonials

LJA Engineering

The LP 1604 reconstruction and widening from south of IH 10 to FM 1346 on the east side of San Antonio was a challenging project for LJA due to the location, variable soil conditions, and very high sulfate concentrations. LJA provided PS&E services for this project, and Vivek, while he was at his previous employer, was the Geotechnical Engineer-Of-Record for us. The project consisted of approximately 5-miles of new pavement design, pavement rehabilitation alternatives of the existing mainlanes to remain, and foundation design for 3 new bridges. Sulfates were a major concern on this project, and Vivek provided cost effective solutions to address the issue that were acceptable to the TxDOT- San Antonio District. He was diligent, flexible and willing to go the extra mile to meet the clients expectations.

AECOM

I worked with Vivek on TxDOT Brownwood District’s IH 20 at Ranger Hill Project in 2014-2016, while he was with his previous employer. The project consisted of realigning and rebuild IH 20 in Eastland County to improve safety by reducing the steep grade at Ranger Hill. Geotechnical investigations were tricky due to significant rock borings on this project and had to be done in a compressed schedule to meet client deadlines. Vivek assisted with Geotechnical Investigation on this project. He was very responsive, diligent and provided the geotechnical recommendations on time on this time critical project.

I worked with Vivek on various geotechnical engineering projects for the reconstruction of the Mickey Leland International Terminal (Terminal D) at the George Bush Intercontinental Airport. These geotechnical investigations required extensive coordination, badging, night drilling and site cleanup. Vivek was very responsive and organized throughout the process. He coordinated with the project team and the Houston Airport System (HAS) airside operations / landside operations to obtain the drilling permits (WAN), utility clearances, surveying the boring locations and perform geotechnical drilling/site cleanup. He worked with the project team and successfully delivered tailormade geotechnical recommendations.

Bridgefarmer

FM 897 was a challenging project for Bridgefarmer due to the location, variable soil conditions and very high sulfate concentrations. The project consisted of a new 1.3-mile bridge and approximately 5-miles of new pavement in variable soils with high sulfate concentrations. Vivek worked with me as the pavement design engineer-of-record and worked very well with us as we coordinated pavement design options with a contractor, and with TxDOT, to develop site specific sulfate treatments and pavement structure recommendations. The project came out on budget due to his willingness to go the extra mile; and I would work with him again.

Henderson Rogers

I worked with Vivek on various geotechnical engineering projects since 2014 including several projects at the Houston Intercontinental Airport. I found him very responsive, easy to work with and always willing to go the extra mile to meet the expectations.

ISE worked with Vivek on TxDOT Houston District’s FM 1960 Widening Project, while he was with his previous employer. The project consisted of reconstructing FM 1960 from east of Twigsworth Lane to west of the San Jacinto River bridge. Geotechnical investigations were complicated by the soft/loose subsurface conditions and shallow groundwater. The MSE walls on the project ranged in height up to 20-feet requiring extensive subgrade treatment to control settlements. Vivek worked with ISE team and provided recommendations that were consistent with the HOU district standards. The project was let in September 2020 and the district received competitive bids lower than the estimated. ISE received accolades from the district for our work.

City of Houston

I worked with Vivek on various City of Houston Public Works projects since 2012 including several major waterline replacement projects. He acted as the Senior Project Engineer on these projects. He was very responsive, troubleshoot, easy to work with, and always willing to go the extra mile to meet City’s expectations.

Vivek’s team provided geotechnical engineering services on the Harris County Precinct One Administration and Service Center (POASC) project in 2020. Once constructed, this project will house the administrative leadership departments that serve the needs of the surrounding Harris County Precinct One community. Based on their extensive local experience, Vivek’s team was able to guide the project team from the onset with geotechnical needs. Their intimate knowledge of the local construction practices helped us to use the appropriate foundation system that could potentially save considerable construction costs and time. They were very responsive and provided the deliverables ahead of the schedule.
